[welcome] > the purpose of this portfolio
This site is meant to act as a digital portfolio to demonstrate my development throughout my years spent in the academy and in the corporate world.
From 2004 through 2008, I attended Marietta College, where I became involved in the McDonough Center for Leadership and Business. As a McDonough Scholar, I studied, practiced, and reflected on leadership in diverse settings: the classroom, philanthropy, extra-curricular organizations, traveling abroad, et cetera. In this digital portfolio, I have attempted to distill my experiences and the lessons I have learned in order to paint a fairly accurate portrait of how far I have come as a leader, how much more I'm excited to learn, and where I'm eager to go.
The McDonough Center emphasizes three core aspects of leadership: Knowledge, Action, and Growth. I have organized my digital portfolio around these three aspects as well. In the [knowledge] section of my digital portfolio, you will find a list of courses I have taken as part of the Leadership Curriculum in the McDonough Leadership Program, as well as courses taken through my current employer. In the [action] section of my digital portfolio, you will find access to news articles which have been published about my achievements or awards and a summary of my involvement and civic engagement. In the [growth] section of my portfolio, I list other organizations through which I have learned about leadership, associations or honoraries with which I am involved, and provide a selection of essays in which I reflect on themes or experiences I have had within the McDonough Program. Finally, I also provide a copy of my curriculum vitae and a form through which I may be contacted.
If you have any questions about my experiences or wish to speak with me about a professional opportunity, please use the [contact] page or email me at ashleywollam@gmail.com. Additionally, I maintain a blog at ashleywollam@weebly.com.
Best wishes,
Ashley
